The Ideal Disinfection Solution for Emergency Transports

The conditions aboard ambulances may significantly contribute to the spread of infectious bacteria and viruses and mold. As the first line of defense, ambulances transport many patients who already have a disease including infections or, if not, are prime targets for infection through open wounds and weakened immune systems. Don’t leave your facilities emergency vehicles and transports open to that risk.

Some EPA registered products for misting and fogging are limited because of excessive wetness during the treatment process with agents.  Ambulance is a specifically listed use site in SteraMist™ Surface Unit’s* direct spray EPA registration.  A powerful technology in fighting, reducing, eliminating the spread of bacteria*, no wipe, no rinse, leaves no residues.

Other common emergency vehicles that can be disinfected utilizing the SteraMist™ Surface Unit:

SteraMist™ powered by Binary Ionization Technology® (BIT™) Provides a Fully Portable, Hand-Held, Point & Spray Application

The sensitive equipment and confined space within an ambulance can create hurdles for dependable disinfection. SteraMist™ BIT™ is an ideal solution because it’s lightweight, easy to transport, disinfects hard to reach treated hard non-porous surfaces on high touch equipment.

Utilizing one SteraMist™ Surface Unit, a driver, captain, pilot or medic can kill pathogenic bacteria*,  inactivate viral** cells and use in mold and mildew control with application in five seconds per square foot with a seven-minute contact time to disinfect. The recommended protocol after transporting a patient is to:

  • After turning off the ambulance, remove all visible biological contaminates (dirt, debris, sweat, blood, vomit, etc.);
  • Open all interior drawers, cabinets, compartments, and enclosures, and
  • Apply SteraMist™ to all surfaces including seats, dashboard, doors, handles, and equipment.
  • Turn on the ambulance and set A/C to recirculate and apply SteraMist™ for an additional 5 minutes, pulling the mist through the A/C system.

SteraMist™ BIT™ is noncorrosive and does not leave silver ions on surfaces or equipment. Leaving an environment with only oxygen and humidity, SteraMist™ BIT™ is ideal for frequent use.
