|STERAMIST™ BIT™ IN AFRICA WITH USAID GRANT|
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Grant
TOMI™ was awarded a grant by the USAid in their call for innovative technologies that would support the global health goal of getting to zero new Ebola cases (and other infectious diseases). As well as to strengthen local healthcare infrastructures.
The SteraMist™ Mobile Decontamination Chambers better protect healthcare workers who are risking their lives to care for people fighting deadly diseases such as Ebola. This is accomplished by reducing the time health care workers spend in PPE. As a result, SteraMist™ BIT™ decreases heat stress and reduces the chance of virus transmission during the PPE doffing process.

This partnership will support and deliver TOMI’s SteraMist™ suite of products to the new Radiation Therapy Cancer Center at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute facility. This forms the first part of President Benigno Aquino III’s Health Reform Strategy for the Philippines. Espire Health is in partnership with the Department of Health under the Public Private Partnership program.Panama: The Director of the Caja del Seguro Social (CCS), stated: “CCS has been using TOMI´s SteraMist™ technology for decontamination services since August 2012. During this time, its efficacy in the public healthcare environment has outperformed our expectations. TOMI’s SteraMist™ sterilizes surfaces in a shorter time, allowing protocols to be performed on a daily basis in tandem with our healthcare staff. TOMI’s solution has produced verifiable results, helping patients and dramatically reducing the overall costs of managing Hospital Associated Infections (HAIs). Due to these positive results, we have plans to place an order for TOMI’s SteraMist™ to service an additional six hospitals within our network.”
The CCS is Panama’s Social Security program that provides healthcare to almost 90% of the country’s population.
